LEESON Electric has announced that Ohio Gear products are now being sold by LEESON and its representative network throughout the United States.
Ohio Gear, headquartered in Liberty, South Carolina, has been providing industrial-duty gear products since its founding in 1915. Both LEESON, headquartered in Grafton, Wisconsin, and Ohio Gear are subsidiaries of Regal-Beloit Corporation (AMEX: RBC).
The Ohio Gear products, primarily Uniline 2000 worm reducers, join IRONMAN and Bravo worm reducers, plus LeCENTRIC inline reducers, in LEESON's expanding range of gear products.
According to Mark Baake, Gear Product Manager at LEESON, the Ohio Gear products add to LEESON's capabilities in several complementary ways:
Expanded Size Range
The Ohio Gear Uniline 2000 worm reducers are manufactured in 13 center distances, up to 10 inches. Current IRONMAN reducers top out at 6 inch center distance. With the larger Ohio Gear products, LEESON can now offer customers worm reducer solutions up to 100 input horsepower.
Ratio Multipliers
Built on three housing size platforms, Ohio Gear ratio multipliers can be ordered with output faces from NEMA 48TC through 210TC, and quill or solid-shaft inputs. Ratios of 2:1, 3:1, 4:1 and 5:1 are stocked. Units are oil-filled and feature double lip seals. Bases and input flanges are also available.
Right Angle Bevel Gear Reducers
Five sizes are available in the Ohio Gear line, up to 50 input horsepower. Each size can be ordered in 1:1, 2:1 or 3:1 ratios. In a bevel gearbox, input and output shaft centerlines intersect, and the angular cut of the gears offers higher efficiency than a worm box. The four larger sizes of Ohio Gear's RA Series bevel units use spiral bevels for enhanced smoothness and noise reduction. The smallest size uses cost-effective straight bevels.
Ohio Gear products are designed to industry-standard mounting dimensions and function as drop-in replacements for most competitive brands. In addition, custom and modified designs are available.
